Puget Sound Weather Outlook

Updated Monday 4:30 a.m.

At Sea-Tac yesterday the high topped out at 76 and in Olympia it was 77. I'm glad I was a chicken and stayed below 80 for the weekend forecast.

We started and ended our weekend mostly sunny and warm. Highs reached the low to mid 70s in a lot of neighborhoods. We found a spot that hit 80, Hoquiam. This is where we still find a thermally induced trough of low pressure causing a NE breeze through Seattle this morning and an offshore flow. This will get us close to 80 today if not a bit higher in the foothills.

This morning, we'll stay mostly clear. The typical spots may see some patchy fog forming early in the morning. Then Monday afternoon, we're calling for a sunny sky and highs in the mid to upper 70s. Some areas up in the foothills and south Puget Sound may see some low 80s. Today is the day that Seattle could actually hit 80.

Then, clouds start to move in late ahead of a weak system that is only going to bring us some extra cloud cover through Tuesday morning.

But by Tuesday afternoon, we'll see partial afternoon sunshine with temps a little cooler in the low 70s.

For the rest of the week through Sunday, the forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with highs in the 70s. We could see another "thermal trough" next weekend. This will push temperatures up again.

Have a great week!
